Classic town of Folkestone, its pier and beach
▶

This recording from September 2020 of Folkestone takes us on a walk from the town centre (the very grandiose pub Samuel Peto), down some quaint streets filled with local restaurants and cafe's. Despite what was going on at the time, people were quite relaxed and rarely covered up when outside. As we leave the town cetre, we pass the Harbour Inn and Royal George, before slowly making our way down the harbour and to the famous Folkestone Harbour Arm. On the way there we admire the former train station platforms.
The view next to the Lighthouse Champagne Bar, with the seaguls flying at eye level is glorious!
We were hoping to walk back on the top level where folks usually fish but it was a one way for unknown reasons. So we cut and made a quick jump to the start of the pier and turned along the beach where a long board walk took us on a 40 minite stroll down by the beach. I'm still curious what was that large bell about. Wish I read the plaque!

"Navajojoe has the noisiest neighbors that exist. We have dealt with this for a long time and thought it would be a good idea to stomp on the ceiling the way they stomp on the floor."
