Body camera footage shows a man reaching for an officer’s gun and punching the officer in the head before running off. The video shows the dramatic ending when two bystanders jump in to help the officer arrest the man. It was Tuesday when Officer Austin Williams went to the Sam’s Club in Provo to conduct a welfare check. Police got calls that a disoriented man was walking around asking people for water in the parking lot. While welfare checks typically amount to nothing this one escalated quickly. Officer Williams explained the moments when he first approached the man. “He kind of looked at me and waved me off and I said do you need some water,” Senior Provo Police Department Officer Austin Williams said. That's when the man, who we now know is Emiliano Medina, turned back. “He quickly pointed at my side and made a gun motion with his hand and pointed it at his head,”

Pasadena, California — Pasadena police released dash cam and body camera footage of a fatal officer-involved shooting from May that shows a suspect firing at police after a chase ended in a crash. Officers attempted to pull over Lloyd Nelson, a San Diego resident who previously lived in Pasadena, on the afternoon of May 8 after he made an illegal U-turn in front of an officer on Colorado Boulevard, near Pasadena City College, and stopped the car in the middle of the roadway and exit the vehicle. Nelson re-entered the vehicle and the pursuit began. When Nelson refused to stop, officers followed him for about 20 minutes in the area on surface streets.

Los Angeles, California — The Los Angeles Police Department provided more information about an officer-involved shooting that occurred in the Olympic Division, in the city of Los Angeles on March 23, 2021, at around 2:20 p.m.. An officer assigned to Olympic Division Patrol, was assisting a community member outside of the front doors of Olympic Station located in the 1100 block of south Vermont Avenue. Once the officer finished, he saw the suspect standing near the front doors of the station with a gun in his hand. The help call was broadcast and additional officers responded to the station. That suspect was later identified as 35-year-old Nakiea Brown.

Police officers in Indiana mistakenly took an actor on a movie set for a real robbery suspect. Indiana State Police were called to the Back Step Brewing Company in Crawfordsville on Tuesday evening for a possible robbery in progress call after someone called 911 to report seeing a masked man with a gun enter the back of the building. When officers arrived from the Crawfordsville Police Department, they saw a masked man coming out of the door at the eatery with what appeared to be a gun and ordered him to drop it. Officers fired at the man, later identified as Jeff Duff, striking the building nearby and not hitting him. Duff then dropped the gun and took off his mask before telling officers that he was filming for a movie. 'The bullet went by his head. It was very close,' Phillip Demoret, an actor said.
